Sela's Rest Inked - Rayartz by LahmiaRaven Sela's Rest Inked - Rayartz by LahmiaRaven
So, now that Corey has started uploading pencils, I thought I'd take a shot at inking one!

This one was so much fun to ink. His lines are so clean and tidy, easy to do but still took quite a bit of time to finish. I think the dwarf is liking Sela's ass! (Who wouldn't?)

It's not fully cleaned up, taking far too long as hubby came home in a grumpy mood and my memory with photoshop is rubbish!! If you guys think the lines are too thick then I can straighten it out.

Penciller: Corey Knaebel :iconrayartz:
Inker: Myself

I so wish I could ink like this!!! XD
This looks damn cool! I know I said it once before but I love how you do the block shading.
The shine on the hair and lips also looks really cool too.

Some of the lines for the window [and everything within its frame] are a little heavy. The shadow of Sela's pillow does a fine job of balancing but I fear that, without that, it pulls away from the focus being on Sela, herself. Just my observation. Otherwise, you really did a fine job with the line work. It is very clean, and polished. You are doing a fine job!

Bravo!

And that is the only way you can work as a inker. I did not mean it as a criticism. I guess I only noticed the weight of his line work after I saw your inking of the piece. You did a fine job, I do mean that.

I am sorry that I did not read the other comment before I posted something. I always try to write as I see things; rather than have the comments of others influence how I see things. It was only after I posted my comment that I noticed what everyone was saying. I did not intend to sound redundant.

Preety sweet work, love, I'm so pleased to see you back in the game. I think the line weight could've been lighter ont he fairy wings out the window and the hair, but then saying that it might make it look odd in comparrison to everything else. So the more I think on it, the less I think my advice holds water, so forget I said it, lol.

Seriously though I think it's great and still totally love how you like to ink the sexier pieces out there.

Keep it up!

It's not digital inks so it will be difficult to 're-do' the pillow

I'm not changing the pencils man, I'm keeping it as it is. If a colourist feels differently and changes it themselves then that's fine

real nice, only thing that I cant settle with is the pillowcase, maybe if there were more areas in black it wouldnt throw me off a bit. line weight is good.

nice work.

Nods, and if it gets hit with color, the balance may all work out. Again, nice work, I do like your inking style. For non digital, whats your prefered pen/tool?

I think you shoul increase the thickness in the close up. and goin decrease it progresibly at the back ground. Exelents pencil artist dont thik on the ink process. Things are very different.

so are you inking this digitally?

the clouds couldve been thinner in their line weight...her closer proximity couldve been emphasized a little more...if you look at her hair and the plant behind her, you can see that they are the same line weight.

that's why I LOVE inking with nibs...you can get a certain "jaggedness" that you cant quite get with using marker/pen...

I NEVER ink digitally. Apart from that once where upon after I swore off digi inks.

Fuck nibs man, I practically used one on the whole thing and it doesn't do a blind bit of difference. I only really think that the chest of drawers came out thin due to using a 2.0. I think from now on, any thin lines I'll use that pen for

I use a lot of technical pens in my backgrounds, cept if it is something that has to look "organic" or "lifelike", then I try my hardest to pull back on the amount of pressure I use with a nib.

Yeah I was really light with the nib but if I do it too light my hands wobble. Sods law!

Yeah my hands are like that when I first start out, and I hadnt been inking in a while...but once I really get into it, then I dont get the shakes anymore.

It looks good. The lines are all clean and you're getting batter at line width. The shadow around her pillow looks a little odd.
